Construction work has started on a first part of the obsolete infrastructure in the Rijeka Port Basin

Construction work has started on a first part of the reconstruction of technically and technologically obsolete infrastructure in the Rijeka Port Basin. Reconstruction is taking place at De Franceschi Pier, behind warehouses 20, 21 and 22 and at the silos. Warehouse 13a has already been demolished, and work has begun on removing warehouse 14. These works will secure commissioning of hitherto unused infrastructure. Modernization of infrastructure in the project “Improvement of the infrastructure of the Port of Rijeka – Rijeka Basin” will improve the efficiency of cargo handling and enable better transport connections of the entire Luka port with the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T). Works in total value of 214 milion kuna without VAT are co – financed with a share of 85% by CEF, and are carried out by Kolektor Koling.The completion of all works is scheduled for December 2022.
