Press Conference at the Inland Warehouse Terminal Skrljevo

On Thursday, 30.10.2014. the press conference at the back terminal Skršlje was held. Members of the Management Board of Luka Rijeka d.d., Mr. Vedran Devčić, President of the Management Board, Mrs. Linda Sciucca, Member of the Management Board and Mr. Nenad Janjić, Member of the Management Board, presented to the journalists the results of the business in the period January – September 2014.

The total traffic of all dry cargoes in the Rijeka port (Luka Rijeka d.d. and Adriatic Gate Conteiner Terminal) in the nine months of 2014 amounted to 2.98 million tonnes and was up by 9% over the same period last year. Traffic Luke Rijeka d.d. in that period amounted to 1.89 million tonnes of cargo and was increased by 12% overall. The largest increase was achieved in the bulk cargo group, which increased by 36%, of which the highest turnover of iron ore and coal at the bulk cargo terminal in Bakra. At this Terminal, traffic increased by a high of 196% or almost three times more than in the same period last year. In addition to the increase in traffic with the long-standing Hungarian partner Dunaferr, this growth is a result of the reaction of an Austrian partner (steel Voestalpine Rohstoffbeschaffungs from Linz and Donawitz), which historically had a considerable amount of cargo prior to the war.

Total revenues in the nine months of this year were HRK 132.915 million, and total expenditures amounted to 132.196 million kuna. Operating income amounted to HRK 131,193 million, operating expenses were HRK 128,865 million, and operating profit for the period was HRK 2,328 million. Revenues from the sale of services domestically and abroad account for 90% of operating expenses, amounting to HRK 104.637m, which increased by 5%. Of this, foreign sales revenues amounted to HRK 93,287 million, a nominal increase of HRK 27,265 million or 27%, and their share in the structure of operating income increased from 53% to 71%.
