The reconstruction of traffic areas and railway tracks in ​​the Podbok Bulk Cargo Terminal in Bakar is progressing

The work on the reconstruction of traffic areas and railway tracks in ​​the Podbok Bulk Cargo Terminal in Bakar is progressing. Of the planned reconstructions of five tracks in accordance with European infrastructural technical parameters, works on the second and third, in the length of 500 meters, have been completed. Also, along the tracks, a concrete pavement has been constructed. The work is also underway on the installation of the first two of the five switches. The construction of the first of the two tracks on the operational shore has also begun. In parallel with these works, the reconstruction of electrical, plumbing and sewage installations is being carried out. Modernization of infrastructure within the project “Improvement of the infrastructure of the Port of Rijeka – Bulk Cargo Terminal in Bakar” is a joint project of the Port of Rijeka Authority and the Port of Rijeka. The total value of the works is HRK 48 million without VAT, 85% co-financed by the Connecting European Facility (CEF). The contractor is the community of bidders GP Krk d.d., Colas Rail S.A.S. and Colas Rail Croatia d.o.o. The works should be completed end of July 2021.
